On April 12, 10 nominees for the next Board of Directors were announced, including Ms. Ursula Burns, co-chair of the Supply Chain Competitiveness Advisory Committee (ACSCC) of the United States Department of Commerce. Specifically, three of the 10 directors nominated for the Board were current directors, including Dr. C.C. Wei, Dr. F.C. Tseng, and Dr. Ming-Hsin Chung.

There are also four current independent directors, Sir Peter Leahy Bonfield, Mr. Michael R. Splinter, Mr. Moshe N. Gavrielov, and Dr. L. Rafael Reif. The three newly elected candidates for the new independent board are Ms. Ursula M. Burns, Ms. Lynn L. Elsenhans, and Dr. Chuan Lin. On June 4th of this year, there will be an election of directors for the regular meeting of shareholders.

Dr. Lin: Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Auxiliary University; Master of Science in Public Finance, National Political University; Doctor of Economics, Urbana Champagne, University of Illinois, United States; and former Professor and Head of Department, Department of Public Finance, National Political University.

Before that, he was the head of the General Bureau of Budget Statistics, former Minister of Finance, and former Prime Minister of the Executive Council of Taiwan. He is currently Chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board of the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States Department of Commerce, Chief Independent Director of Nasdak Corporation, Independent Director of the Japan Manpower Holdings Company (non-listed company), Chairman of the Independent Board of Directors and Remuneration Committee of Gogoro Corporation of the Cayman Islands, Independent Director of Tigo Energy Corporation of the United States, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, Nomination and Corporate Governance Committee.

Mr. Moses Geoffrelov: Bachelor of Arts in Electrical Engineering, Israel Institute of Technology; Master of Science in Computer Science, Israel Institute of Technology. Former President and Chief Executive Officer, and former Director, Cellings, United States; former Executive Chairman, Wind River Systems, a non-listed company. Current Chairman, Sima Technologies, a non-listed company, United States; Chairman, Foretellix, Israel, a non-listed company; and Independent Director, Enchipo Semiconductor, Netherlands.

Dr. Rafael Lev: with a Master of Electrical Engineering and a PhD from Stanford University in the United States, he is a member of the American Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the United States National Engineering Academy, a foreign student of the Chinese Institute of Engineering, and a member of the United States National Institute of Inventors. He was also a former Professor of New Technology of Fariborz Maseeh at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a former Director of the MU.S. Department of Commerce  ACSCC Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Board of Directors!icrosystems Technology Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a former Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (EECS).

He is currently co-chair of the US Applied Materials Growth Advisory Board, the Honorary Rector of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is clear that the four independent directors currently in power are indeed senior semiconductors, either principals of well-known universities or CEOs or directors of well-known semiconductor enterprises, compared to the three newly elected independent directors.

According to the Network, the United States Department of Commerce's Supply Chain Competitiveness Advisory Committee (ACSCC) was established to advise the United States Secretary of Commerce on the necessary elements of an integrated supply chain competitiveness policy approach aimed at supporting export growth in the United States and the competitiveness of the national economy, encouraging innovation, facilitating the movement of goods and improving the competitive domestic and global supply chains of goods and services in the United States. The Committee will also advise the Minister on regulatory policies and plans and investment priorities affecting the competitiveness of the United States supply chain.

In addition, according to industry sources, eight of the 24 members of the US Department of Commerce’s Industry Advisory Committee are involved in power generation. In addition to the current Chairman of the Industry Advisory Committee of the U.S. Department of Commerce  ACSCC Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Board of Directors!US Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology, Mr. Mike Spinlint includes the former Director of Power Generations, Huang Hansen, and the Director of Pre-Store Research and Development, Yan Taonan.

On 19 December 2023, Director Liu announced, through a public announcement, that the chairman of the company, Liu De-jin, had decided not to participate in the next nomination of a board member and would retire after the annual shareholders meeting in June 2024. The CEO, Vice-President Wei Cheol, will take over as the company’s next chairman, pending the election of a new board by the shareholders’ assembly in 2024.
