Boat Monitor's simple, intuitive interface makes it a snap to monitor how your craft is sitting at anchor from on shore. Or use it as an onboard/remote anchor alarm when gunkholing far from internet access.

Boat Monitor is in active development with regular updates for multiple platforms, as well as a web application so it is possible to use a wide range of devices to send your boat's position (onboard) and to monitor its position (onshore).

LOCAL MONITORING:
Sleeping onboard while at anchor? Set Boat Monitor in Offline mode, set your anchor safe zone size and shape, and rest easy. No internet is required, and it will sound a loud alarm sound then continue speaking your position to you until you cancel or move back inside the safe zone.

REMOTE MONITORING:
With Internet:
- Set up your phone / iPad onboard in Online mode. Set your anchor safe zone size and shape. Leave your device plugged into ship power and head ashore!
- From onshore, use this application on another device logged into your account to view your boat's position and receive notifications if it drifts outside of the anchor radius. You can even log into your account from any computer with internet to view your position. Or, receive email or SMS alerts on any capable device.

Without Internet:
- Set up your phone / iPad onboard in Offline mode. Turn the volume up high.
- Using a FRS/GMRS/VHF radio in VOX (voice operated) mode, set your phone/iPad close to the radio’s microphone. Use the VOX test button in the app and adjust the volume on your phone/iPad to ensure that it is broadcasting clearly.
- Go ashore with a radio; Boat Monitor will call you if your boat is outside the safe zone you set up, and let you know the boat’s distance and bearing to the anchor. It will continue calling with updated info as long as the boat is outside the safe zone.

NOTE: since this app uses background GPS, leaving it running will use up your battery faster than usual since it never really allows the device to sleep. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life, so we recommend that you connect your device to boat/shore power before leaving it onboard. To stop the app when it is running in the background, go to your home screen, double-tap the home button, hold down the Boat Monitor icon in the tray at the bottom until the red circles appear, then click the red circle for the Boat Monitor icon.

Coming Soon:
Dock Monitoring : monitor your boat against theft while at the dock. Uses very little data for economy.
